This is true for our friend, Matt.
A childhood marked by abuse and brokenness led Matt down a path of prescription drug and alcohol addiction, theft, and repeated jail time.

When he came to Greenhouse, Matt was serious about change.

He found not just recovery, but a family. “Pastor John really took me under his wing—he loved me even when I didn’t love myself.”
Matt is now walking in freedom as our full-time recovery intake officer, the first face to welcome new residents who arrive broken and afraid. He helps other men like him find the same healing he found as part of our trusted Greenhouse team.

Here’s how your gift gives vulnerable neighbors access to long-term addiction recovery:
EVERY $50 DONATION
Provides one client with private one-on-one free addiction recovery sessions for one month. Certified recovery specialists help clients to define goals, and foundational sobriety work is established.
EVERY $100 DONATION
Covers vital support systems that position clients for ongoing sobriety — all Christ-centered. In-person recovery meetings, discipleship groups, care for family and loved ones.
EVERY $500 DONATION
Builds long-term resources for clients and loved ones committed to lasting sobriety, like life coaching and continual support based on biblical principles to encourage autonomy and stability.

Yes, we’re a registered 501C(3) charity. All donations receive a tax receipt. You can donate securely through our online donation page. If you have any questions about your donation or would like to make a special investment, please email info@ghproject.org.

In fiscal year 2023, 80% of our funding went to program expenses, which covers addiction recovery counseling, outreach events, after school education, church, teaching supplies, and staff. We rely completely on funds that come from individual supporters, church partnerships, and local businesses who champion our mission.

Since our 2019 launch, addressing drug abuse in our community has been a necessary cornerstone of our ministry — the need for long-term recovery support is just so vital in our city.
We also have our own redemption stories with addiction recovery! We draw from direct personal experience, professional training and certifications in the specialized areas of recovery to provide quality support to all. We understand how a strong, Jesus-centered support system is directly linked to profound life transformation and lasting sobriety. -
Lasting transformation only happens in a community where lives are shared. Many development programs meet urgent needs and aid those in crisis. Although practical support helps, this alone does not create long-term healing and change. Our model goes far beyond handouts or short-term programming. Greenhouse Project is distinguished by living life side-by-side with the people we serve to build long-term, Christ-like relationships that promote positive, lasting change.

We always welcome volunteers with a heart for people in broken areas like Chester. Everyone knows this is a tough place to live—you can be a light for our neighbors! Come meet the people you are impacting for a few hours: help out during food outreach, prayer walks, homework club, trash clean-up, or Sunday church. Volunteer for a day or become a regular… you decide the commitment level.
