A new Community Center is the next step for Greenhouse Project, a ministry firmly rooted in Chester.

GROW will get us there.

FALL 2026 UPDATE

FALL 2026 UPDATE •

READY FOR REPLANTING

Greenhouse Project has approval to move forward with plans for a new Community Center in Chester.

The new space will create more room to gather, strengthen ministry programming, and expand ministry that serves families with greater stability and care.

The Lord has set the table for what comes next. This is a maturing moment for Greenhouse Project and an opportunity for longtime supporters to help shape the next chapter.

We are sharing the GROW campaign privately with close friends, ministry partners, churches, and key donors who have been asking:

What is next for Greenhouse Project, and how can we help?

PROGRESS UNDERWAY

Our team is actively advancing plans to renovate a 5,000 sq. ft. building just two blocks from our current headquarters.

  • Local council members, church partners, and neighbors have voiced strong support.

  • Early vision sharing with key donors and church partners has secured lead gifts.

  • Initial architectural plans have been developed for flexible, multi-use spaces.

  • Building plans, parking, traffic studies, and zoning details have been submitted and approved.

  • Parking agreements with neighboring businesses have been secured for annual submission to the City of Chester.

CAMPAIGN SNAPSHOT

Committed to financial transparency and resource stewardship.

Early gifts will first replenish cash reserves used to purchase the property, then support renovation planning, design, and Phase 1 execution. Current Phase 1 estimate for initial use is preliminary. A final campaign goal will be announced once architectural plans, contractor bids, contingencies, and construction commitments are complete.

PHASE 1 PLANNING

PRELIMINARY FIRST FLOOR PLAN

Preparing the Community Center for safe, approved initial use to better serve neighbors as soon as possible.

Phase 1 is expected to prioritize the spaces and improvements required for Greenhouse Project to begin serving people in the building.

Offices and secondary rooms may be completed in later stages. Final scope will depend on architectural plans, City requirements, contractor bids, and available funding. Full design renderings and technical plans are still in development.

THE FINANCIAL PICTURE

Making moves for the future while fulfilling ministry today.

The Community Center is one part of Greenhouse Project’s ongoing ministry. As campaign planning continues, leadership is evaluating whether the eventual public campaign will include both Phase 1 renovation funding and a defined period of ministry operating support. That structure has not yet been finalized.

FINANCIALS FOR THE FUTURE

Building toward a responsible campaign goal.

Early planning indicates approximately $600,000 in cash funding may be needed to prepare the Community Center for initial use. This is a preliminary working estimate, not a final construction price.

Early funding is helping cover pre-construction needs like legal and zoning expenses, architectural services, traffic and parking consultation, property-related expenses.

A more dependable Phase 1 cost will be established after:

  • Architectural and design drawings are completed

  • Contractor bids are received

  • Construction contingencies are added

  • A guaranteed maximum price or comparable contractor commitment is secured

Greenhouse Project is intentionally waiting to announce a final campaign goal until the full scope and cost can be communicated accurately.

FINANCIALS FOR TODAY

The mission continues while the building moves forward.

Greenhouse Project ministry must continue funding the ministry already happening daily. Our approximate current annual operating budget is $450,000.

Operating support funds:

  • Addiction recovery support and counseling

  • Residential recovery and discipleship homes

  • Weekly Food outreach

  • Homework Club and youth programming

  • Church gatherings and spiritual formation

  • Community care and crisis support

  • Staffing, facilities, communications, and daily operations

Unrestricted gifts may be used where needed most to support Greenhouse Project’s annual operating budget.
