Greenhouse Project Receives 6abc Spotlight for Serving Chester with Hope
We’re honored to share that Greenhouse Project was recently featured by 6abc Philadelphia in a local news spotlight highlighting the work happening here in Chester through recovery, outreach, and long-term community presence.
The story, titled “Pa. man opens doors to recovery through the Greenhouse Project,” shines a light on our founder, John Clifford, and the heart behind this ministry: helping people grow in difficult places.
For us, this feature means a lot.
Not because of attention for attention’s sake—but because it helps tell a bigger story to an audience that might not know Jesus.
The 6abc segment begins with part of John’s own journey through addiction and how that story became the foundation for Greenhouse Project’s mission in Chester. It also highlights the reality that this ministry isn’t being done from a distance. John and his family live right here, in the same neighborhood where Greenhouse continues to serve through recovery support, food outreach, youth programs, and practical care for local families.
That part matters.
The heart of Greenhouse Project has always been beyond programs, although they provide the structure for relationship building…
Here, we focus on presence.
Consistency.
Building trust over the long-term.
Opening doors, and creating space for people to encounter both tangible help and Gospel hope.
The feature also highlighted a recent Coat & Shoe Drive outreach effort in partnership with (and thanks to!) Rafferty Subaru and Operation Warm, which helped provide shoes and jackets to local families in late winter, which is often when kids have outgrown items or worn them down in the thick of winter.
The outreach event is one more example of how meaningful partnerships can come alongside this work and make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors!
We’re deeply grateful to the team at 6abc for taking the time to visit, listen, and share this story with the wider Philadelphia region.
And we’re grateful for every person who helps make this mission possible—our volunteers, church partners, donors, and faithful friends who continue to sow into this work.
This spotlight may feature one story, but it represents so many lives being impacted every day through the love of Christ expressed in practical, consistent ways.
