Make Back-to-School Season a Celebration!

— NEW UPDATE AS OF AUG 18 —

Because of your incredible generosity and support, we reached our Backpack Drive goal in full!

Every dollar, share, and act of kindness will sow into local students next week, equipping them with confidence and essential supplies as they step into a new school year! Behind the scenes, we are busy filling 150 backpacks with school supplies to distribute next Tuesday, Aug 26 at 9-11am during Food Outreach. We are truly grateful for a community that believes in planting seeds of hope in the next generation — thank you for being part of this effort.

Still want to help?
Every gift from here goes directly into our expanding Homework Club, providing items for study, gospel learning, and FUN. We are expecting our biggest group yet, so thank you for helping connect kids in need with a safe space to receive God-led mentorship. It is literally changing lives!

It’s hard to believe—but we’re getting ready to kick off Year 5 of Homework Club! What started as a small group of kids learning and laughing together after school has now grown into a full-blown movement of faith, friendship, and future-shaping.

We’re seeing so much momentum this year:

  • One Way Youth, our brand-new youth group for teens, is taking off

  • Sunday gatherings are bursting at the seams with kids

  • New families are joining us every week

And right now? We have an amazing opportunity to bless our students big-time as they head back to school.

Help Equip 150 Kids with Backpacks + Supplies by August 21

We want every child in our community to start the year confident, celebrated, and equipped. But the reality here is many families in our neighborhood can’t afford brand-new school supplies.

So here’s the plan:

At Food Outreach on Tues, August 26 from 9-11am we will be handing out free backpacks filled with new school supplies to Homework Club kids, other community youth, and caretakers with a child in need. It will be a special time of connection, and support as we all gear up for the school year!

Under-resourced families can come enjoy our usual weekly gathering around free groceries and authentic connection—and walk away knowing the Lord has provided for an essential need from a community of believers that care.

But we can’t do this without you.

💡 Why This Matters

This isn’t just about pencils and paper. It’s about dignity, hope, and possibility.

When kids feel supported—when they’re surrounded by Christ’s love and assurance of opportunity—they begin to believe that their future can look different. That’s the heart of Homework Club. That’s the heartbeat of Greenhouse Project.

As we look toward the school year ahead, we’re praying boldly:

  • That our students would rise into who God created them to be.

  • That our “community” would expand to reach new hearts and souls.

  • That one backpack might spark a lifelong journey of growth, healing, and faith.

Thank you for walking with us. Let’s build something beautiful together.
