Fall Is the Perfect Time to Get Involved
There’s something about fall that feels like a fresh start.
School is back. Calendars fill up again. Families settle into new rhythms. And here at Greenhouse Project, some of our favorite weekly spaces are coming back to life.
But these programs aren’t simply events we put on for the community. They are places where relationships are built over time—where kids find mentors, neighbors become friends, people in recovery find encouragement, meals are shared, prayers are poured out, and ordinary people discover that showing up consistently can make a very real difference.
And there is room for you in it.
Greenhouse Project has always been powered by people willing to bring what they have: a couple of free hours, a home-cooked meal, a willingness to tutor, a listening ear, practical skills, prayer, or simply the decision to keep showing up.
You don’t have to be an expert or commit your entire calendar. You just have to start somewhere!
Fall Program Rundown
Homework Club begins September 16
As students settle into another academic year, they need something valuable: people who keep showing up.
Volunteers who love working with children, teaching, tutoring or mentoring are essential to creating a space club kids that combines tutoring and fun, Bible stories, encouragement and mentorship.
It’s really a partnership with local families—not simply to get homework finished, but to help children become confident, motivated lifelong learners.
Sit beside a student working through math. Help sound out a difficult word. Play a game. Ask about their week. Celebrate the good grade. Remember their name when they walk through the door again.
Those little moments stack up.

One Way Youth begins September 9
Meets every other Wednesday for teens ages 13 and up. This community youth group creates space for teenagers to grow in faith, build friendships, and spend time with adults who care about them.
Teenagers don’t necessarily need adults with perfectly polished speeches. They need safe, consistent role models who will listen, encourage them, point them toward Christ and remind them that their lives have purpose.
We specifically invite people to serve as mentors within the student-led youth group who are willing to become part of a support system for a teen!

Food Outreach is ongoing, every Tuesday 10am
Greenhouse serves an average of 150 families through Food Outreach each week, but the heart of the ministry has never been simply handing someone groceries. It’s creating the kind of consistency where people become known by name and relationships have room to grow.
If you’ve been thinking, “I’d love to serve, but I’m not sure where I fit,” this is one of the easiest places to jump in. Volunteers help with food setup, distribution, welcoming neighbors, and cleanup.
Come once. Bring a friend. Bring your church group. Come back the next Tuesday if you love it.

Christ-Centered Recovery Meetings, every Monday 7pm
There are meaningful ways to support this unique space without becoming a counselor or recovery expert. Monday nights is full of men and women seeking freedom from life-dominating addiction, sharing struggles and triumphs.
Help make a meal for the meeting. Or, share your story as a speaker. Create an atmosphere of hospitality and encouragement for people doing some incredibly courageous work in their lives.

Bible Study & Discipleship, every Wednesday 6:30pm
Partnership with Greenhouse doesn’t only mean arriving with something to give.
Every Wednesday for 60 mins, the Greenhouse community gathers for Bible study, prayer, fellowship and food. Bring a dish or dessert to share, open the Word alongside our neighbors, and simply become part of the community.
One of the most beautiful things about serving here is discovering that the line between the people helping and the people being helped gets blurry pretty quickly.

Other Event Types
Not every need fits neatly on the calendar, either. Greenhouse regularly welcomes volunteers for construction projects, cleaning, case management, office support, special events, and other practical needs.
The best way to get involved is simply to start.
Come for a Tuesday morning. Help a student with homework. Bring dinner to recovery. Join Bible study. Invite a friend.
There’s room to serve, connect, and become part of what’s growing here this fall.
